Kilimanjaro expeditions employ a full crew of experts to help you successfully summit this enormous mountain.

All treks are led by a chief guide whose expertise and experience will enable climbers to safely enjoy the journey of a lifetime.

Chief guides are aided by one or two assistant guides who help safely navigate their groups up and down the mountain.

Most crews also bring at least one cook whose task it is to prepare hot meals for each day of the trek.

Lastly, all expeditions employ a handful of porters who haul the heavy camping equipment up and down the mountain so you don’t have to. The porters will do most of the strenuous work so you and the group can focus on having the best climbing experience possible.

Remember to tip your crew generously at the end of your trek. Tipping is expected of you. More information on this custom can be found on the “tipping” page of this website.
